Dr. Hunninghake and patient success story, Roger, discuss the HCG Rx+ program on the radio talk show, The Joan Jerkovich Show. Plus, read Roger’s testimonial about how his dramatic weight loss has changed his life below:
The battle that has raged in my life with my weight goes back to high school. The steady gain that I experienced in my 20′s caused my retirement from the fire department on disability, ending a great career. Steadily gaining until reaching 450 pounds was the cause of a doctor telling me I had 2 months to live as he threw a diet pamphlet at me, giving me no support. When I asked him if he could live with this diet plan, he laughed and said no. At that time, I started with a diet program that was part of a national chain and lost 190 lbs.
Over time the weight crept back on, and I have spent thousands of dollars on pills, formulas, and programs with no success. Once I passed 50 years of age, the increase became unstoppable, and it literally stole my life and dreams from me. With damaged and deteriorating knees, diabetes, cellulitis and other health issues, I lost mobility and even the control of bodily functions. I was to the point that I was a liability and burden to my family, friends, and myself. Also adding today’s society’s contempt and intolerance for obesity, I was under constant ridicule. Even the Supreme Court has ruled that the only person that prejudice and discrimination is legal against is the obese.
Hucksters and outright thieves hawk pills, programs and cure all products, while conventional medicine looks at obesity with the same jaundice eye that the public does. You must starve, do exercises that damage joints, and submit to surgery, with the only result being the lightening of the pocketbook and the deterioration of the patient’s life.
Only a few clinics like the Riordan Clinic actually look at alternative programs and protect the underlying health and well-being of the patients. While searching for answers and alternatives to surgery, I came to the clinic and Dr. Ron for an evaluation of all underlying conditions to my health. I was at the point of praying for death to end the misery, heartache, and embarrassment that I had come to.
It was only by sheer circumstance or ‘divine guidance’ that I came to the Riordan Clinic for help. I had not heard of their research and efforts to evaluate the HCG diet. I happened in after Dr. Ron, his wife, and three others had personally been on the program to actually know how it felt and worked. I was fortunate that they immediately offered me the program before the group or public offering. On Christmas day 2010, I started the HCG program with Dr. Ron’s and Meg’s guidance. Within two weeks, I started making noticeable improvements. By February, I was off of most of my prescription medicines for various ailments, and the home clinic workers that do my blood work were amazed at all my results being right where they should be and without all the drugs.
I went into the Health Department here in Medicine Lodge to weigh 3 times a week, and I had a cheering section that was encouraging me with every loss and consoling me with any set back. Immediately, by not using so many medications, it was a $100 savings every month.
The other immediate thing was my mind cleared up and has been running 100mph ever since. The increase in my energy and the ability to dig back into the closet for clothes that have not been worn in over a decade was the next result. I hauled 8 bags of clothing to the Hospice Thrift Store in Pratt. I am almost ready for another load and going downstairs to get into clothes I have not seen in 20 years. Yes, I am that tight.
In the past, I was a singer and performing poet, but I had lost my singing voice and breath control in early 2010. Now, my voice is back and stronger than ever. That is one of the side effects of the HCG program. I am in the process of forming a new partnership with a musician from Oklahoma to get back on stage. A friend had me come up and do two songs not long ago, and he was amazed at the strength and tonal quality of my voice. It is inspirational to have it back. If I cannot sing, I have no zest for life.
Not only has the whole staff of the Riordan Clinic supported, encouraged and inspired me, but a host of friends and family have been behind me all the way telling me that I can do it.
